Looking for a creative Burlington, Vermont, engagement session? What better way to go authentic burly than a Ben and Jerry’s date at Oakledge Park?

After hanging with Nikki and Brad for an hour, it was clear that the only thing these two love more than ice cream is each other. Capturing their love story (which includes their shared obsession with Ben & Jerry’s!) last week was so much fun!

Nikki and Brad were in Vermont for his cousin’s wedding, so they were already in the loveeeee #mood. What better time to take pics, right? When Nikki reached out, she mentioned that they had never had professional photos taken before. She also let me know that because of how busy they are at home, the only way they’d make time for an engagement session was if they did it while they were on vacation.

And that is pretty cool, don’t you think?! Recognizing how important these moments are and getting creative with how to make them happen is really special. Plus, what batter place to do it then in the home state of their favorite ice cream?

The second I read Nikki and Brad’s questionnaire, I knew this session was going to be awesome. Not only did we share a love for margaritas and Fall Out Boy hits but I could tell from a few of their pic “must get’s” that they’d be down to enjoy a surprise ice cream date (thank goodness for Yeti coolers in 80 degree weather) and maybe even get in the water and have some fun.

This Oakledge Park session was a BLAST. I mean, ice cream and a whole lotta wild love on Lake Champlain? What else could you really need? Good thing you can find Ben and Jerry’s anywhere.

Love stories? Here's mine!

I wasn't born with a camera in my hand and I haven't "wanted to be a photographer ever since I can remember." My passion for photography developed (a bit) later in my life and since then, I would consider it quite the obsession...

As you explore, ask yourself "can I see myself in these images?"

I like to describe my style as, "a little grain, a little pop of color, a lot of wild love."
