hey there, I'm ali.

I am a toddler & dog mom, chocolate lover, avid smutty fiction reader, get-me-outside girl, and heart-driven photographer.

Take a deeper look at these Christmas Tree Farm Mini Sessions in northern Vermont.

Mini sessions are such a fun way to celebrate the magic of each season—I try to offer them at least twice a year, and this winter, I bundled up and headed to a tree farm in northern Vermont to run around, play, and photograph seven families.

Here are some of my favorite photographs from each session:

The Hunt Family

Rachel & Clayton

Although most people who come to mini-sessions are families with little ones, I love photographing with couples. Rachel’s dad owns the Christmas Tree Farm where we were photographing, and they’re getting married on the property in 2025. Working with them and capturing the farm in a different season was so much fun.

Marak Family

The Propper Family

The Putnam Family

One of my favorite things about these Christmas Tree Farm Mini Sessions (and all mini sessions!) is how much the light changes over the course of time I’m photographing. Each session is unique because each family is unique, but the shift in light provides a slightly different look and feel to each session as well!

When the Putnam Family arrived, the sun started to dip low enough to give us some pretty sun flairs through the Christmas trees.

The Hall Family

The Cunningham Family

By the time the Cunningham Family and I began photographing together, the sun was showing off, and we were able to take some of my very favorite photos of the day.

Schedule a Full Family or Couples Photography Session

I call my sessions “Storytelling Sessions” because that is exactly what they are.

Together, we plan a session that encapsulates the season of life you want to document. I’ll ask specific questions to help you brainstorm the most important moments, memories, and feelings you want to remember. You’ll have a chance to tell me more about the kind of images you’re most drawn to and the things that inspire you, and share any images you’ve seen and loved. Then, we’ll work together to plan outfits and choose a location and time that best represents your family and the story you want to tell.

Becoming a mother transformed the way I see and photograph the world — with a slowed-down feel focused on the sensory story of a life well-lived and even-more-loved.

I photograph the loose curl, the soft thunder of little feet, the vows said through tears with your toes in the moss.

This is not curated perfection. This is memory made visible.

My style behind the lens: Whether I'm looking for bugs with your kiddos, snuggling your newborn while you change outfits, or exploring Vermont nature with you and your love, your session will feel fun, effortless, and like you're hanging with a friend.

My style behind the image: With a nod to classic film and a vibrant punch, my photography style is a little grainy, a little earthy, and always nostalgic.

My style behind the books: When I'm not taking your picture, I'm probably snuggled up with my dogs, my kiddo, and a spicy romantic fantasy novel (IYKYK).

It’s those small, familiar moments that you’ll want to remember when the toys
are packed away and the
bathwater's gone cold —
the mess, the motion,
the everyday rhythms.
So we press pause. We
make time. We capture
what’s real—calluses,
chocolate, chaos and
all.

There’s something kind
of magical about the
everyday: how it sneaks
past us while we’re
making lunch, brushing
crumbs off the counter,
or trying (and failing)
to fold the fitted
sheet.
