When it comes time to plan your Vermont wedding, the struggle to decide on a venue is real. How do you find one that fits all of your guests? How big of a venue do you need? What if you don’t even really want a traditional venue, but you need somewhere to call a home base?! I’ve got wonderful news for you, friend: you can host your intimate Vermont wedding or elopement at a gorgeous Airbnb and customize your celebration to be totally, completely you.

Why Have An Airbnb Wedding or Elopement in Vermont?
If you’re anything like me, I’d imagine you’re dreaming of a wedding that looks a little bit like this:
Quiet moments in the trees, toes in the dirt and hair in the breeze
Warm evenings around the fire, clinking glasses & roasting marshmallows under the stars
Slow mornings, adventurous afternoons, and cozy nights with your people
Tear-filled eyes as you take in a beautiful view, away from the noise of daily life
Sound like the type of wedding that pulls at your heartstrings, and feels like home? Then you’re in the right place—because a Vermont Airbnb wedding is just what you’ve been looking for.
It’s sort of the perfect way to combine the elements you love of both weddings and elopements, and craft a one-of-a-kind event that feels true to you—no traditions or restrictions you need to follow.

Want a small Vermont wedding with 20 of your favorite humans on this planet, at a charming cottage in the middle of the woods, with multiple days to celebrate and explore the beautiful landscapes around you? Done! An intimate Airbnb wedding is where you will thrive.
Or maybe you dream of eloping just the two of you, luxuriating in the quiet around you and enjoying home-cooked meals, slow mornings, and laid-back evenings in a hot tub at a modern cabin in the mountains. An Airbnb elopement is the way to go!
This is the type of celebration for couples who value the intimacy of small gatherings, who crave the comfort of being in a home away from home, and who want to curate a day (or multiple) of festivities that is totally, completely unique to them. All while enjoying thoughtful accommodations, grounding landscapes, and stunning Vermont scenery 😉

How to Pick an Airbnb For Your Intimate Vermont Wedding
Finding the perfect fit is about more than just picking a place that matches your aesthetic, vision, and budget—there are a few practical considerations that you’ll need to pay careful attention to as you browse your options.
Before you start your search for an Airbnb, here are a few key things you need to look out for!
Are events allowed?
In my experience, a majority of Airbnb rentals actually do NOT allow weddings or events of any kind on the property. Many Airbnb hosts don’t want to deal with guests who don’t clean up after themselves, who leave the place a mess, or who violate property rules after a few too many drinks. . . and honestly, fair enough! This is why it’s important to look for an Airbnb that expressly allows events.
Most often, Airbnbs will mention that they allow or do not allow events in the property listing. Other times, you may have to reach out to the host directly to ask for permission. You need to do your due diligence to make sure that you respect the owner and the property they are renting out to you, and that you follow all of their rules + know their expectations!
Is there parking on site?
Once you’ve found an Airbnb host who is okay with you having your intimate wedding or elopement on the property, check to see what the parking situation is like! If you don’t have guests coming, this probably won’t be an issue—but if you do, make sure there is somewhere nearby for them to park (if they’re driving themselves), or if transportation is easily available nearby.
Are there noise rules/quiet hours?
Certain Airbnbs will have a time of night they ask guests to quiet down and keep noise levels to a minimum. If you plan to be pumpin’ music late into the evening hours, or you know your group can get a little rowdy, you’ll probably want to book an Airbnb that isn’t right next to a residential home/neighborhood, and that doesn’t have specific quiet hours.
Are pets allowed?
If you want to bring your pup(s) to your wedding or elopement, they need a place to sleep too! The Airbnb website allows you to filter results to only show rentals that are pet-friendly, which makes it super easy to narrow down places that will work for you and your fur babies.
Where can guests stay nearby?
If you’re not renting a place that’s big enough to host your guests (or you want to stay somewhere separate from them), find an Airbnb that has other lodging options nearby such as hotels, other Airbnbs, campsites, etc. Your friends and fam will need a place to stay if you’re hosting a multi-day celebration, where everybody is traveling to be together!
Is there space to get ready?
Finally, double check that your Airbnb of choice has a good area to get ready in! A few great things to look out for are natural light, mirrors, light-colored (preferably white) walls, decor that matches your wedding aesthetic, and plenty of space to move around as you prepare everything + everybody for the day.

10 Best Airbnb Wedding + Elopement Venues in Vermont
1. Cozy Rustic Cottage | Stowe, VT
Guest Capacity: 6
Pet-Friendly? Yes
Highlights: Mountain views, gardens, private patio, 42 acres of property, sheep (!!), outdoor chairs + fire pit
This adorable rustic cottage is a literal dream come true, and so is its neighboring property—the next featured Airbnb on this list. Located right near Stowe, this 180-year-old farmhouse sits on a 42-acre property that is the epitome of cozy life in the Vermont countryside. The house itself is the sweetest place to stay and to host an intimate wedding or elopement, with 3 charming bedrooms, rustic interiors with a touch of modern-bohemian decor, and a spacious patio that is just begging to be enjoyed with loved ones. The grassy area and gorgeous gardens around the home are vast, and perfect for a small ceremony + gathering with a few family and friends, and you get access to the entire 42 acres to explore. You might even run into sheep grazing the fields—and YES, you are allowed to give them all the pets and scratches they deserve!
And the best part of this cottage? There’s a whole separate home on the farm that you and your guests can also enjoy, plus a barn that you can rent if you’d like exclusive access to the entire property. I’m not sure I could envision a more idyllic place for an intimate gathering with your loved ones if I tried.

2. The Funky Parlor House | Stowe, VT
Guest Capacity: 4
Pet-Friendly? Yes
Highlights: Mountain views, gardens, lawn area, 42 acres of property, outdoor chairs
Fun fact: this home actually used to be an old milking parlor that the owners have now converted into a super warm, inviting, and modern living space. Despite the contemporary and eclectic decor inside, though, nothing screams rural Vermont more than the dirt roads, mountain views, and backcountry trails that come with a stay at this rustic bungalow. And if you and your fam like to hike or snowshoe in the winter months, you’ll be drooling over how close you are to the Catamount trail—you literally have 300+ miles of backcountry trails accessible just a few steps from your front door. Or if outdoor rec isn’t what you’re envisioning for your Vermont Airbnb wedding, you can simply enjoy the stunning sunsets, vibrant gardens, and tranquil atmosphere this property has to offer. If you’re also renting out the cottage, you can head over there in the evenings for a relaxing night around the fire pit with your best buds.

3. Wild Sugar Homestead | Newbury, VT
Guest Capacity: 16
Pet-Friendly? Yes
Highlights: 70 acres of farmland, mountain views, orchards, pond, fields, wildlife
Never in my life have I seen an Airbnb quite as magical as this one for intimate weddings and elopements—it was made for weekend escapes with loved ones, quality time outdoors to connect with nature, opportunities to create new memories and reminisce on old ones around the dining room table. . . a dream come true for couples craving a meaningful celebration with their family and friends. Nestled on a 70-acre homestead in Newbury, this spacious home is everything I adore about old-fashioned charm, mixed with just enough of a modern touch to keep you comfortable: ornate brick designs, gorgeous built-in furnishings, carved floor boards, beautifully-crafted furniture, and an overall sense of warmth that seems to invite you into your own little world.
The home itself is absolutely stunning, but so is the entire property, which you get unlimited access to during your stay! There are endless photo opportunities everywhere you look, from the views of the White Mountains to the apple and plum orchards; the quaint little ponds to the outdoor swing that I can just SEE being the star of a playful set of couples portraits. Wild Sugar Homestead also offers access to a party barn and a milk house, so you’ve got options when it comes to where you celebrate + host your loved ones. And the best part? You can all stay on the same property, meaning you’ll have so many chances to truly connect, be present, and make the most of your time together. Isn’t that all you can ask for when planning your intimate wedding or elopement in the idyllic Vermont countryside?

4. Mod Cabin | Wardsboro, VT
Guest Capacity: 5
Pet-Friendly? Yes
Highlights: Mountain access, spacious lawn, wood burning fireplace, outdoor fire pit, hot tub, patio
That huge homestead is a dream come true for microweddings, but if you’re envisioning an even smaller, more private elopement, then you’re going to love this little A-frame cabin in the woods. Surrounded by 7 acres of dense forest near Mt. Snow, this beautifully-designed cabin is the absolute perfect spot for a fall elopement: the foliage everywhere turns the most breathtaking colors, the cozy indoor fireplace and outdoor firepit become the perfect spots to warm up, the outdoor hot tub ideal for relaxing outside even when it’s chilly. . . I truly could not dream up a more perfect place to cozy up for a weekend with a couple of loved ones, or by yourselves. The views are phenomenal, and you’re within driving distance from Mt. Snow for some great hiking opportunities—but you could honestly spend your entire time at the cabin and be fully satisfied, without even having to leave the property.

5. 4-Season Treehouse at Bliss Ridge | Moretown, VT
Guest Capacity: 7
Pet-Friendly? No
Highlights: Fireplace, rain shower, plenty of natural light, custom light fixtures, stunning spiral staircase, 88 acres of private farm property, close to ski resorts
I already knew I loved Bliss Ridge Farm as a venue for big weddings, but then I found out that they also have 2 totally gorgeous treehouses on the property that you can rent out. This is their larger treehouse, a luxury home that’s been built into the trees for the ultimate stay in nature. It’s not just a basic treehouse without modern amenities, either—it’s got full plumbing, a hot shower, a fireplace, and a shocking amount of space for being literally built in a tree. The wooden architecture and design of this treehouse is absolutely spectacular and truly blows my mind every time I see a photo of it. That spiral staircase is to die for. I can just picture the two of you and your loved ones sharing a once-in-a-lifetime experience in these woods, surrounded by a vast wilderness that invites you to escape the busyness of daily life + step into the present moment together.

6. A-Frame on the Ridge | Jeffersonville, VT
Guest Capacity: 6
Pet-Friendly? No
Highlights: Hot tub, rainfall shower, wood-burning fireplace, mountain views, fire pit
This is yet another dreamy Airbnb set on a larger property, Sterling Ridge Resort—which just so happens to be another favorite venue of mine. Designed with privacy, luxury, and tranquility in mind, the A-Frame on the Ridge is everything you’re looking for in a cozy log cabin, plus all the modern amenities and design you need to be comfortable during your stay. Every window offers gorgeous views of the Green Mountains, and you pretty much have the entire ridge to yourself to admire the drool-worthy scenery. Plus, Sterling Ridge Resort offers a mini wedding package that includes lodging for you and up to 15 guests, plus a full ceremony and reception on the property! Or, opt for a more low-key elopement ceremony and book your stay at the cabin separately. Either way sounds like a dream to me.

7. Bavarian Castle | Irasburg, VT
Guest Capacity: 7
Pet-Friendly?
Highlights: 20 acres of property, mountain views, private pond, woodland trails, outdoor fire pit, hot tub, patios
Now THIS is what I’d call a show-stopper. . . get ready, because you’re about to be blown away by this fairytale-esque castle in the middle of Vermont. Yes, I said castle! Although it feels like it belongs in the highlands of Scotland, this castle is actually set on 20 acres of dreamy grounds in Irasburg. Every part of this spacious countryside home is magical, with a variety of bedrooms and shared spaces to cozy up in, an incredible backyard with outdoor seating, a beautiful fountain, manicured greenery, even a hot tub to relax in at the end of the day. With easy access to Jay Peak, Stowe, and Crystal Lake, there are ENDLESS opportunities for you to both celebrate at the castle itself, and to explore the nearby scenic areas that Vermont has to offer! The property has so many hidden gems to explore, and you’ll truly feel like you’ve been transported into another time. It’s so freaking cool, and makes for such a unique place to tie the knot.

For the final 3 Airbnbs, I want to add a disclaimer that I couldn’t find a specific mention of wedding/elopement permissions in their listings; however, it’s assumed as none of them have clear party or event restrictions. If one of these is speaking to you, I’d recommend reaching out to the owner to double-check their rules, and get express permission to host the type of day you’re planning!
8. Happy Heart Log Cabin | Morristown, VT

Plus, you’re super close to downtown Stowe, where you can take a little trip and explore local shops + restaurants. Did I mention that the private decks are west-facing—meaning you should absolutely head out there to watch the sun set behind the mountains at night?

9. Cozy Hilltop Cabin | Hinesburg, VT
Guest Capacity: 4
Pet-Friendly? No
Highlights: Mountain views, hot tub, cathedral ceilings, quiet hilltop location, nearby lake access
Calling all of my couples who are outdoor enthusiasts + want to spend as much of their elopement outside as they can—this is the cabin for you! Just 9 miles from Burlington, this hilltop home sits on 13 acres of private property that’ll have your jaw on the dang floor (grass?) with its beauty. Head out to the hot tub on your private deck! How about some mountain biking, hiking, or skiing? There are plenty of trails nearby to choose from. Orrr maybe you want to spend a day out on the water, basking in the sun and the gorgeous views around you? Take advantage of the kayaks and paddle boards available to you. There’s even a reading nook with a hammock for those of you who like to wind down with a good read 😉 Aaand the deck + lawn are a dream for nighttime stargazing, which would be such a romantic way to end your elopement!

10. Modern Chalet | Weston, VT
Guest Capacity: 8
Pet-Friendly? Yes
Highlights: Gorgeous greenery, spacious deck, mountain access, large gathering room
I’ve got one last cabin for ya, and then it’s up to you to pick the one that calls to your heart the most. Don’t worry, though, you really can’t go wrong with any of these! Especially this unreal chalet tucked into the woods of Weston, which is paradise for any couples who love to ski, or who just love to be out in the mountain wilderness. You’re within 15 miles of four different ski areas—but the house honestly has SO much to offer that you might not ever want to leave. The open-concept layout on every floor makes it feel incredibly spacious, with a luxurious kitchen, thoughtful design, and large dining area that’s perfect for spending time with your fam and friends. The floor-to-ceiling windows are amazing, letting in a ton of natural light and allowing you to admire the greenery all day long! I could totally see a trip to this cabin becoming a new tradition for you, too. . . maybe an anniversary trip every year?
